The 7th Annual SADC Industrialisation Week (SIW) is set to take place from 28 July to 2 August 2024 in Harare, Zimbabwe.
This year's event, themed "Promoting Innovation to Unlock Opportunities for Sustainable Economic Growth and Development towards an Industrialised SADC," aims to accelerate the region's industrialisation efforts and foster economic integration.
The week-long programme features a diverse array of activities.
An Investment Conference will highlight opportunities in the region, while high-level keynote addresses and panel discussions will explore critical issues in industrialisation.
The event will also facilitate B2B meetings and organise factory site visits to showcase regional industrial capabilities.
Notable speakers include His Excellency Dr. E. D. Mnangagwa, President of Zimbabwe, and Ms. Fatou Haidara, UNIDO Deputy to the Director General. They will be joined by other key figures from government, industry, and international organisations.
The event will focus on several key areas crucial to the region's industrial development.
These include regional value chain development, innovation and technology in industrial processes, and energy infrastructure and sustainable practices.
Additionally, the programme will address entrepreneurship, SME internationalisation, and investment opportunities in the SADC region.
The SADC Industrialisation Week serves as a platform to disseminate information on the SADC Industrialisation Strategy and Roadmap, identify challenges faced by businesses in the region, and share progress on the implementation of previous SIW declarations.
