Born out of an extensive collaboration with the European Union and with the support of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MOFED), this new MCCI Technology Transfer Platform is the gateway for entrepreneurs to access technology from abroad through technology transfer agreements as well as commercialisation of their own IP generated asset.

This unique one-stop-shop provides enterprises with advice and technical support in the field of IP and Innovation, including generation, protection and commercialisation of IP Assets.

TECHNOLOGY NEEDS

1) Tubular-shaped biodegradable material

A Mauritian company operating for more than 40 years in the sector of materials extrusion, is seeking for an innovative material or additive, to be implemented in own process for the development of a totally new line of products.
As a minimum, the new product should have the following features:

Tubular shape
Biodegradable and Recyclable
Diameter Size 10 mm maximum, minimum length 20 cm (length adaptable)
Flexible (non-brittle)
Can handle water solutions pH2 to pH8, alcohol solutions or carbonated liquids
Temperature use range between 0°C to 60°C

2) Environment-friendly cleaning of water stream

A Mauritian company operating for more than 50 years in the country is seeking for a small entity processing water streams contaminated by organic residuals, deriving from food processing, needs to clean the effluents and achieve environmentally suitability for the whole system.

The following aspects are to be reached:

Circularity of the effluents (potential to recycle the organic fraction, eventually upgrading the organic matter) recirculating the water
Reduction of BOD - COD load in all water effluents
Total removal (catalytic methods preferred) of the alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, heavier fractions
Separation and reuse of potentially useful streams (yeasts, sugars, fibres ...)
