About MARC
MARC is the independent Alternative Dispute Resolution arm of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI).
It was established in 1996 as an initiative of the MCCI to provide the business community with quick, efficient, flexible and confidential means of resolving disputes, through mediation or arbitration, as alternatives to litigation before state courts.
Its objectives are to offer quality and cost-efficient dispute resolution services to businesses via mediation and/or arbitration; to provide training in alternative dispute resolution methods; and to promote arbitration and mediation at local, regional and international levels.
The governance structure of MARC is composed of a MARC Court, presided by Mr. Neil Kaplan QC CBE SBS and a MARC Advisory Board. The day-to-day administration is under the responsibility of the MARC Permanent Secretariat.
