Following the announcement made in the Budget Speech 2015-2016, the Customs Act 1988 has been amended to provide for the deferred payment of customs duties and taxes at importation for SMEs and other VAT registered persons. The new scheme will allow the deferred payment of duties and taxes for a period of one month.
 
In this context, the MCCI has invited Mr. Rajendra Gupta Ramnarain, Section Head, MRA Customs to make a presentation on the conditions for benefiting from the new scheme. The presentation will be held on Monday 10 August 2015 at 11hrs00 in the Conference Room of the MCCI, 3 Royal Street, Port Louis.
