The fourth training session of the Tourist eVoucher, regrouping more than 10 artisans was held at the MCCI Head Office on Thursday 27 July 2023.
The objective of the session was to enrol a new batch of operators on the Voucher Scheme, for an enhanced visibility of their products.
They were also acquainted with the Shop App, an instrumental tool to process their sales transactions.
Operators were pleased with the support in terms of marketing and training provided by the MCCI as leveraging on these means would definitely promote their products and boost sales to tourists.
After the training, some operators were eager to use the Tourist eVoucher “Redeem Here’’ stickers and product tags in their next participation in local markets across the island.
“The MCCI accelerates its pledge towards accompanying inclusive economic growth namely by partnering with local artisans in the Voucher Scheme to open access to international markets. By providing sensitisation and training sessions, the Chamber aims at giving the means to artisans to be able to better accede to international market opportunities. Furthermore, the training and sensitisation sessions, together with onboarding facilities, provided by the eVoucher System shall enhance capacity and visibility of artisans”, said, Secretary-General, Dr. Drishtysingh Ramdenee.
Furthermore, the marketing provided by the MCCI also covers the listing of the Voucher Scheme operators on the website www.taxfreeshopping.mu and mobile App MCCI Tax Refund App.
Of note, a national campaign will soon be launched to increase awareness of the Voucher Scheme.
