The Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Protection invites shopping malls, shops, hypermarkets/supermarkets to consider extending their opening hours.

The extension of opening hours aims at preventing crowding, with the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic and would thereby help to better abide to the existing sanitary restriction measures. It would also enable consumers to shop with greater flexibility and avoid peak times.

The management of shopping malls, shops, hypermarkets/supermarkets is further requested to ensure that strict measures are applied to control access, as well as, to ensure that the number of persons allowed in is in proportion with surface areas of shops. Management should also make sure that social distancing rules are always adhered to.
