Business updates

It is with regret that we have learnt of the passing of the former Secretary General of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), Dr. Yousouf Ismaël. He served the institution from April 2020 to December 2022.

Dr. Yousouf Ismaël joined MCCI during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, where he contributed to implementing various crisis response measures, including the development of support plans for businesses and coordinating with authorities on essential services operations during the lockdown period.

His previous experience in both local and international contexts informed his approach to the various challenges faced by the business community during this period.

The MCCI extends its condolences to Dr. Yousouf Ismaël family during this difficult time.
