The Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) welcomed today a delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) of India.

The visiting delegation, comprised of leading Indian businesses from the highly specialised healthcare sector, met with Dr. Drishtysingh Ramdenee, Secretary General of the MCCI, along with the MCCI management team and MCCI members.

The Indian delegation included representatives from prominent healthcare institutions:

- Foundation of Healthcare and Wellness Promotion (FHWP)

- AyuQuo Centrum

- CK Birla Hospitals

- KIMS Hospitals

- Shalby Sanar International Hospitals

- Shinon Collaborative Consultancy Pvt. Ltd

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral trade relations between Mauritius and India, with special emphasis on the healthcare sector. Discussions were focused around exploring collaborative opportunities in medical value tourism, knowledge exchange, and technological partnerships.

Dr. Ramdenee highlighted Mauritius' strategic position as a gateway to Africa for Indian healthcare investments and expertise. The PHDCCI delegation shared insights on India's advancements in medical tourism, Ayurvedic treatments, specialised surgical procedures, and healthcare management systems.

The networking session provided MCCI members with direct access to Indian healthcare leaders, facilitating potential business partnerships and investment opportunities.

This visit is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the economic relationship between Mauritius and India, building upon the existing Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement (CECPA) which came into force in 2021.

The MCCI remains committed to fostering international business relationships that contribute to Mauritius' economic development and diversification.
