The Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Protection has amended the Consumer Protection (Consumer Goods) (Maximum Mark-up) Regulations 2020 introducing price control on a number of new products including basmati rice, pulses, butter/margarine, cheese, pulses, pasta and hygiene products.

The new regulations are effective as from 25 April 2020 and will apply to all imports cleared from MRA Customs as from this date.

More information on the procedures for the submission of documents and the approval of prices for the goods subject to maximum mark-up is available on the website of the Ministry.
