Business updates

Mr. Eric Bodo, President of the Bar of St Pierre, of Reunion Island and Mr. Jacques Tsang Man Kin, President of the Mauritius Bar Council met the Secretary-General of the MCCI and the MARC Team on Friday 8 September 2017 for a courtesy call and discussions on how the legal profession of Reunion Island can better collaborate with the Mauritian legal profession and institutions for the development of arbitration in the Region.

The courtesy call was made in the context of the visit of a delegation of lawyers from Reunion Island to Mauritius. Discussions held addressed in particular the need for joint training efforts as well as the development of common professional norms to support the development of sound arbitration practices. Mr. Bodo expressed his commitment and willingness to work more closely with MARC along these lines of collaboration.
