On Monday, 21 October 2024, the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) welcomed a high-level delegation from Prosper Africa on its premises.
Prosper Africa is a Presidential-level national security initiative focused on strengthening the strategic and economic partnership between the United States and Africa by advancing transformative trade and investment opportunities.
Led by Ms. British Robinson, Prosper Africa Coordinator, and accompanied by His Excellency (H.E.), Mr. Henry Jardine, U.S. Ambassador to Mauritius and the Seychelles, the delegation included high-level officials from the U.S. Africa Trade Desk (USATD) and representatives of the U.S. private sector.
Mr. Charles Harel, President of the MCCI, and Dr. Drishtysingh Ramdenee, Secretary General of the MCCI, met with members of the delegation to explore opportunities and strengthen commercial ties between the US and Mauritius.
Key topics of discussion during the meeting included the diverse business opportunities across various sectors between our two countries and Mauritius' strategic role as a gateway to African markets.
The MCCI is dedicated to fostering strategic trade cooperation between the United States and Mauritius.
