Business updates

MARC launched the first edition of its newsletter this February 2015. The aim of this newsletter is to educate and sensitise the business and legal community of Mauritius and the Region about the benefits of Alternative Dispute Resolution for resolving business disputes. For this first edition, the focus was on mediation as an effective dispute management tool for SMEs, training in mediation, and the use of arbitration in the financial services sector. A recent Supreme Court decision on the question of jurisdiction of the arbitral tribunal and the principle of competence-competence was also covered.
