Cabinet has agreed to the Terms of Reference to start negotiation of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates. The objective of the Agreement is to strengthen trade relations between the two countries particularly through the reduction or elimination of tariffs on trade in goods and elimination of non-tariff barriers on trade in goods.
The CEPA would include Chapters on Trade in Goods, Rules of Origin, Customs Administration and Trade Facilitation, Trade Remedies, Investment Facilitation, Trade in Services, Intellectual Property Rights and Economic Cooperation amongst others.
