The Chief Commissioner of Rodrigues, Mr. Johnson Roussety, along with Mr. Christopher Begue, Advisor on Communication Matters to the Chief Commissioner, visited the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) today 28 February 2024.

The meeting with the MCCI team, including President Mrs. Namita Jagarnath Hardowar, Secretary General Dr. Drishtysingh Ramdenee, Head of Advocacy Mrs. Rooma Narrainen, Head of Management and Finance Mrs. Sarada Moothoosamy, and Economist Mrs. Nishta Surajbali, aimed to explore avenues for further collaboration between the MCCI and Rodrigues Island, through the Regional Assembly.

Discussions focused on how the MCCI could support capacity building initiatives via the MCCI Business School and provide a structured platform to Rodriguan entrepreneurs.

The need for enhanced cooperation between the Mauritian business community and Rodriguan entrepreneurs, fostering a mutually beneficial partnership, was highlighted.

The visit emphasised the potential for fruitful collaboration between Rodrigues and the MCCI, aiming to empower local entrepreneurs and strengthen economic ties between Rodrigues and Mauritius.
