Mauritius has made a submission on “Australia’s trade and investment relationships with the countries of Africa – The Mauritius Perspective” to the Senate Committee of the Senate of the Commonwealth of Australia on 21 December 2017.
Mauritius was the only African country to have made a submission to the Senate. The submission outlines the strategic location of Mauritius as a gateway for Australian investors to Africa, and proposes the conclusion of a Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the two countries to provide a framework for closer collaboration.
Mauritius looks forward to playing a key role in Australia’s quest to consolidate its trade and investment relationship with Africa.
