Business updates

The Ministry of Local Government, Disaster and Risk Management and the Corporate and Business Registration Department (CBRD) would like to inform businesses that as from 03 January 2020 annual payment of trade fees have to be made at the CBRD. 

The CBRD will be a one-stop-shop for payment of trade fees and business registration fees.

Payment of the above fees should be effected as from 03 January 2020 to 20 January 2020 at the office of the CBRD or online.

Those exempted (i.e. Trade fees not more than MUR 5,000) from payment of trade fees will be issued with a new Business Registration Card, which will be posted to them. These businesses are not required to effect payment at all. The exemption does not apply to classified trades regulated under the Excise Act & the Gambling Regulatory Authority Act.
