Business updates

The 168th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the MCCI was held on Thursday 30 March 2017, at the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel, Caudan, Port-Louis at 9:30 am.

Mr. Azim Currimjee, the President, delivered a speech on the State of the Economy. Hon. Seetanah Lutchmeenaraidoo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Hon. Ashit Kumar Gungah, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection, and Hon. Soomilduth Sunil Bholah, Minister of Business, Enterprise and Cooperatives, also addressed members on this occasion.

The new Council was also elected during the AGM. Mr. Azim Currimjee, from Quality Beverages Ltd. (Industry Group), has been re-elected as President of the MCCI for the year 2017/2018, and he is supported by the Vice-President, Mr. Marday Venkatasamy CSK, from Filao Ltée (Industry Group).
