Business updates

The 167th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the MCCI was held on Thursday 31 March 2016, at the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel, Caudan, Port-Louis at 9:30 am.

Mrs. Hélène Échevin, the outgoing president, delivered a speech on the State of the Economy. Hon. Ashit Kumar Gungah, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection, and Hon. Soomilduth Sunil Bholah, Minister of Business, Enterprise and Cooperatives, also addressed members on this occasion.

The new Council was also elected during the AGM. Mr. Azim Currimjee, from Quality Beverages Ltd. (Industry Group), is now positioned as the new President of the MCCI for the year 2016, and he is supported by the Vice-President, Mr. Marday Venkatasamy CSK from Filao Ltée. (Industry Group).
