Accounts Clerk

The Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry wishes to appoint a dynamic and self-motivated person to fill the position of ACCOUNTS CLERK.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the Preparation of Management Accounts.
  • Prepare Purchase Orders and reconcile Open PO.
  • Process Invoices, Payments, bank transfers, 7-days fixed deposits and others.
  • Maintain, verify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare invoices and send to clients.
  • Prepare Receipts.
  • Verify Bank statements to ensure that all receipts received on the bank statements have been processed on NAV and receipts have been sent to clients.
  • Prepare supporting documents for monthly financial statements.
  • Reviewing Fixed Assets Schedule and register.
  • Assists accounting department personnel and performs filing, check processing, and mailing.
  • Perform any other cognate duties.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • HSC with Accounting & a Diploma in Accounting.
  • At least 3 years in a similar position.
  • Conversant with Dynamics NAV would be an advantage.
  • Highly organized, deadline oriented, and a skilled communicator.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong people skills – a polite and professional demeanor when working with others.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
