Representation The MCCI has nearly 400 members belonging to the main sectors of the Mauritian economy -- commerce, industry and tourism -- and to all supporting service industries, including banking, insurance, transport, forwarding and consultancy services.

It promotes its members' interests and expresses their views through the submission of reports, memoranda to the relevant authorities and through meetings with members of government, ministries and other institutions, including the press and media. It intervenes on their behalf whenever their interests are threatened, and it constantly endeavours to enhance them.

Its overall aim is to foster economic liberalism and market-oriented policies.
