Contribution to the Development Process

The MCCI is one of the core member-organizations of the Joint Economic Council (JEC), the Mauritian private sector's overall representative structure, whose vital role is to coordinate the entire business community's policies and stands, and to speak on its behalf, mainly to Government. In this capacity, the MCCI is thus called upon to express to JEC members views and stands on a host of matters of national dimension and importance which go beyond purely commercial and industrial considerations.

As for discussions relating to the development of commercial and industrial activities, the MCCI is regularly solicited and makes submissions directly to representatives of the Government ministries and departments concerned.
